Community Spirit

We encourage community involvement from an early age and work closely with children, parents, families and local groups to participate fully in the community both as individuals and at a company level.

We believe it is important to interact with the wider community and encourage the children, families, staff and company to take part in local social and community events. As such most of our settings take part in the local fetes and fairs and often we can be found running local market stalls or running a float at the carnival.

We like to include parents as much as possible and hold regular social functions for parents including parents evenings. In addition we hold regular open days for parents and the local community including a summer fair and Christmas market.

We encourage close links with local children’s centres, schools and colleges and we try to recruit apprentices for all our settings locally as well as most of our staff.

Every year we support a local charity as a company but include the staff, children and where possible parents. We hold various fund raising events throughout the year in support of that charity. In 2017 we are raising funds for the Woodlands Macmillan Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. As a member of The Woodlands Business Champions Club we have agreed to raise a minimum amount of money for the centre in 2017. This is a great cause and is close to the hearts of many of us as we have been personally affected by cancer.

“The new Macmillan Woodlands Centre will: Enable all outpatient oncology services to be brought back together in one state-of-the-art building. Increase the number of chemotherapy stations from 9 to 15, plus 2 single rooms for treatment.

Hugely increase capacity, giving people the choice of local treatment, and create an environment that is comfortable and spacious for patients, their family and friends. Give the dedicated and talented staff desperately-needed space to work more efficiently.”
