Putting Your Child First

Maximise The Potential of Your Child!

We believe in offering more than the just childcare – we always aim at ‘Putting Your Child First’. This is what we call our programme of enhanced activities in addition to the usual childcare offering.

‘Putting Your Child First’ is at the centre of all we do at CHDN. We are always looking for new ways to give your child an even better, more stimulating experience.

Our aim is to help your child extend and further develop key skills at every level whilst having tremendous fun and making new friends at the same time,

Each activity offers different play and learning opportunities within day-to-day activities and practice.

Our current activities include:

  • Baby Yoga
  • Yoga Dance
  • Monkeynastix *
  • Cook With Me
  • Science Is Fun
  • Green Fingers
  • Ready4School
  • Forest School Activities

Baby Yoga

Baby Yoga is available in our Grantham Nursery.

It includes massage, holds, stretching, singing and rhymes, game playing and relaxation. This helps babies with their development including rolling, sitting, crawling, standing and walking. But most of all it helps babies brains to grow at the time of their most intense growth.

Yoga Dance

Yoga Dance is available in most of our nurseries. Many of our staff have been trained in this and offer weekly classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Yoga Dance uses songs and rhymes alongside plenty of movement and stretching. It promotes strength, flexibility and balance. Relaxation and energetic activity are contrasted and balanced providing a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

We provide Monkeynastix*  in all our settings.

“Monkeynastix  is a broad-based, holistic programme that combines creativity and music with basic training in flexibility, balance, strength, agility, co-ordination and body awareness.”

*additional fees may be payable

Cook With Me

Cook With Me is our cooking programme for all the children.

It is a great activity that encourages the children to learn and practice a whole range of skills, plus it gives them a better understanding of food and where it comes from.

Our Head Chef has produced a range of simple recipes and sends out the pack of ingredients required for the children to prepare and cook the food.

Science Is Fun

Our hands on programme for children to understand science and carry out some fun experiments.

Green Fingers

0ur programme for children to learn about nature as well as helping in the garden with growing plants and vegetables. All our settings have a bug hotel where children can observe various creatures and their habitat.

We know it can be stressful for little ones to move on to ‘big school’ so we aim to make this transition as smooth as possible. Our programme for pre-schoolers prepares them for school with visits to school as well as:

Teacher visits – teachers come to the nursery to introduce themselves – they often stay to read a story or play with the children.

Dressing Up – children wear the school uniform where they are going to attend to get them used to the new dress.

Role Play – including playing teacher and taking the register

Graduation – a fun day where children reflect on their time at nursery  and celebrate their accomplishments.

Forest School

Forest School activities are available in our Grantham nursery.

Our Forest School Activities excite and amaze with safe but adventurous activities such as fire building in the fire circle and using tools to build dens.
